Today, on August 8th (or 8/8), is the Lion’s Gate Portal.

It’s a phenomenon that I have known about for some time, but wasn’t aware of its origins until recently.

You may ask, what exactly is Lion’s Gate? Here’s a brief history.

History

Lion’s Gate is an annual event that occurs approximately from July 28th through August 12th, with its energy peaking on August 8th. The portal is activated when the star Sirius (the brightest star in the Northern Hemisphere) aligns with the constellation Orion, the Sun, and Earth. The sun is now traversing through the astrological sign of  Leo, hence the name, Lion’s Gate.

The ancient Egyptians held Sirius in high regard and associated it with the goddess Sopdet, who represented abundance, fertility, and rebirth.

When the helical rising of Sirius began, it was a sign for the Egyptians to plant their crops, heralding in a New Year and the flooding of the Nile River. When this occurred, it was a highly auspicious time because the rainy season and the rising waters of the Nile River meant their crops would flourish and provide an abundance of food to the people.

When these celestial bodies align and activate the Lion’s Gate Portal, it is said to be a gateway of high vibrational energy that can amplify our intentions, spiritual growth, and generate new beginnings.

What are some ways we can take advantage of this portal of energy? Here are a few ideas that I’m considering over the next few days.

Journaling

Our minds are filled with numerous thoughts, needs, and memories each day. In fact, the mind processes millions of pieces of information each second.

As we list our goals, we receive more individualized attention, deepen data processing, and bolster our commitment.

When we write down our intentions, it serves as a mental reminder of our dreams and can guide us in breaking those goals down into actionable steps, helping us achieve them.

Vision Boards

What is a Vision Board? It’s a collage of words, images, and photos that represents one’s aspirations.

Numerous studies have shown that visual representations of our dreams and wishes elicit powerful emotions that, in turn, can motivate us to pursue them.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I had a vision board party. We had a brilliant time together, sharing our dreams, cutting out images and words from magazines, and pasting those items onto a poster board.

Now, we check in with each other, continue to talk about our goals and passions, and encourage each other in making those dreams a reality.

Meditation

Meditation often helps calm our bodies and clear our minds, while also grounding us. When we meditate, we can develop a more precise visualization of what we want to achieve. Additionally, meditation contributes to our spiritual well-being, generating more tranquility, and can connect us to universal consciousness.

Meditation also relaxes us, shifts our mindset, and opens us up to awareness and possibilities.

When we are in a state of calm and bliss, we are clearer about what we want.

From this place of receptivity, we can use creative visualization to achieve not only our desires but also to reach a state of being, such as a deeper awareness of our interconnectivity with our global community or a profound sense of peace and an understanding of our oneness in the world.

Lion’s Gate is a powerful portal with the potential to manifest our desires and goals. It can also be a time of greater awareness and connection to ourselves and each other.

However you use this propitious time, may you and your loved ones be surrounded in joy, contentment, and peace.

Thank you for being here with me.

Sending love,

Stacy
